Sophia Quilted Car Coat

The Sophia Quilted Car Coat is our most retro style - nipped at the waist and with a fuller a-line silhouette, giving serious 1950’s vibes. Crafted from a vintage 1930’s Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt, this coat features an oversized genuine shearling collar - it’s truly the softest, and most complimentary tone of cream to match the patchwork feedsack fabrics in the coat. The original quilt featured a unique aqua border with hand quilted stitches and you’ll find this same detail repurposed here on the cuff and hem of the quilt. A few edges are frayed but that’s part of the charm - and it’s one of the details that perfectly completes this coat. On the inside, you’ll find two of our signature oversized interior pockets, vintage grosgrain ribbon finishings and bias bound details like pockets, collar, and cuffs. Polishing off the entire coat are vintage acrylic buttons in the perfect shade of pink for this coat!

Every quilt coat includes two signature oversized pockets on the interior of the coat - meaning the pattern of the quilt is never disrupted. We believe in the finest garment finishing techniques and have over 15 years of garment construction and tailoring experience. Every seam and edge of the garment is finished with bias binding and vintage grosgrain ribbon, and includes a coat loop to hang our garment from.
